Terry County Parole vs Probation

Probation, called community supervision in Texas law, comes from a court order and is served in the community instead of, or sometimes after, a term in jail. Terry County Community Supervision and Corrections Department, or CSCD, is the local adult probation office. Parole is a discretionary release from a TDCJ sentence before that sentence expires. Mandatory supervision is another state-prison release route based on the statutory time-credit framework and Board review limits. Both state routes are supervised through the TDCJ Parole Division.

The agency line matters. Terry CSCD does not operate an inmate roster or public name-search tool. TDCJ parole records do not establish a local probation order. Start with the source of the sentence, not with a broad name search.

Verify Terry County Post-Release Supervision

A reliable check uses identity, sentence source, and agency confirmation. Do not infer supervision from a charge, bond amount, or absence from the Terry County Detention Center roster. The jail houses people on parole or probation holds, as well as people waiting for a TDCJ or Community Corrections bed. One release can therefore be a transfer rather than a return to the community.

1. Match the booking. Use the official Terry release entry or an older booking-out record to confirm the full name, booking number, and exact county departure time.
2. Identify the court or prison system. Obtain the filed probation order from the proper clerk for a local case. Preserve the TDCJ or SID number for a state case.
3. Confirm local probation. Contact Terry County CSCD. Ask whether the office can confirm the order and which public record contains the current supervision status.

Terry County Probation Office

Terry County has a named local office for adult community supervision. The official Terry County CSCD page identifies the director and contact point. This is the right local route for probation questions tied to a Terry County court order. It is not the office for TDCJ parole.

A local supervision question should be narrow. Provide the full name and case number if known, then ask which filed order or office record can verify supervision. Court records show what the judge ordered. CSCD can address its own supervision role. Neither should be asked to interpret an unrelated TDCJ parole result.

State contacts serve distinct tasks. The Parole Division main line is 512-406-5250. Terry County Supervision Violations

Supervision conditions are the rules in the court order, parole certificate, or agency record. They can include reporting and other case-specific duties. A violation allegation may lead to agency action, a warrant, a hold, or revocation proceedings, but the result must come from the proper record. Revocation means supervision is withdrawn after the required process and custody may resume.

An absconder is a person alleged to have stopped reporting or otherwise left supervision without authorization. Terry County's sheriff site did not publish an official county warrant, most-wanted, or absconder list when the research was checked. Terry County Supervision Discharge

Release and discharge mark different events. Release can mean leaving a jail or prison while legal supervision continues. Discharge is the formal end of that supervision or sentence status. For probation, the court record and CSCD are the key routes. For parole or mandatory supervision, use TDCJ and the Parole Division. A person who has left the Terry County jail may still report to an office, remain subject to conditions, or await a receiving agency.

Terry County Probation Holds

The local CSCD detail has an important custody link. Terry County's jail division says the detention center holds people on parole or probation holds. A bond figure on the public profile may therefore fail to explain why custody continued. The same problem applies at release: a booking-out time establishes departure from Terry custody, but not the reason or next destination.

Ask detention staff for the release or transfer disposition when the path matters. If another agency received custody, follow that receiving system. If the person returned to local probation, verify with CSCD and the court order. If TDCJ parole is involved, use the Parole Division. This Terry-specific routing prevents a common mistake: treating all community supervision as one agency and all jail exits as community release.

Terry County Parole Review Results

The Texas Board process is mainly an administrative file review. TDCJ identifies cases about six months before initial eligibility and about four months before later reviews. An Institutional Parole Officer prepares a summary. Three panel members vote in sequence, and two matching votes decide. The Board does not publish a normal person-by-person public hearing calendar for these reviews.

FI variants may require a program or future date. RMS concerns mandatory supervision. NR, SA, and DMS reflect denial, serve-balance, or review outcomes. Approval may also be withdrawn if new facts arise. For that reason, the vote date and result should stay separate from the completed release date.

Eligibility is another separate point. Government Code section 508.145 contains formulas that vary with the offense and date, while section 508.149 lists mandatory-supervision exclusions. Some cases use actual calendar time without good time in the relevant calculation. No single percentage resolves every Texas sentence. The Board result, TDCJ time record, and actual release confirmation each answer a different part of the Terry County question.
